The continuous motion of a rocking chair derived the concept for this furniture piece. The constant back and forth motion highly inspired the design. The chair is meant to look as if one line continuously repeats itself. The line doubles back and forth creating the overall width of the chair. Plywood was chosen to portray the continuation of the line. Showcasing the laminations of plywood enforces the conceptual idea, allows for the profile to be thinner, and takes advantage of its structural properties. The profile was designed for comfort and is suitable for men and women.
